JENIQUA

Jeniqua is an Australian born singer / songwriter with European heritage. (Swiss, Danish, Polish, French, Irish, Scottish). She was born into a big family that has been referred to as, 'The 1, 2, 3 Family’. Unique in that, her parents had first child, then twins & then triplets and was considered an Australian Mother's record at the time. Jeniqua is one of the triplets.

Jeniqua has always known she had a God given gift and talent for singing, as a young girl, chose to take her natural gift further, writing poetry, then went on to teach herself piano, adding melodies and chords to poetry verses and eventually writing lyrics to her own songs, and her creativity continued to blossom from then on.

​

Jeniqua’s voice has been often referred to as angelic. She is equally comfortable with R&B, Soul, Jazz fusion, Gospel & dance. Her voice blends elements of these genres naturally to create a unique sound where every note exceeds expectations.  Her music oozes soul, heartfelt lyrics and an exceptional delivery of infectious melodies, backing vocals and vocal arrangements all created and mastered by Jeniqua herself. She is a writer of Gospel songs, Praise & Worship songs, crossover songs and mainstream songs that feature on both Gospel / Christian contemporary playlists and R&B / Soul mainstream playlists and appeal to a wide range of audiences.

Always inspired by much on her journey, Jeniqua’s songs are birthed from an overflow in her heart, encouragements, life, experience and testimony… which are expressed so effortlessly and so honestly in her creations. Her deep love for God and a desire to connect with listeners across the globe, her rawness and personal revelations of much learnt in her life so far, is her motivation behind her song-writing. She has captured the hearts of many and her mission through music, is to uplift, encourage & empower people in their own lives and meet them where they are at, whether expressing that in a silky smooth ballad, or soaring to great heights in a powerful and funky dance track.

Some of her achievements include; ISC Songwriter Semi-finalist, Unsigned only Semi-finalist, a Shorty Award nominee for ‘Best Singer’ on social media and 32nd Annual Chicago Music Award Nominee for ‘Best female Vocalist'.

​

A compilation album Jeniqua featured on with one of her songs ‘Making Love’ (Ready for my love), won a few Soul Survivor Awards. The song was then released as a single. It was voted most popular and most played song in that year of release. It was also No.1 on the Quality Time Cream Cuts monthly Chart, by Soul Express, UK. The single and it's 4 remixes, also remained at the top of a few Traxsource Top 100 Download Charts in different genres, for over 5 years.

 

Following that, her ‘Jeniqua EP’ was amongst the Top 10 in Radio Airplay Charts in the UK along with her single 'Better Day' from that EP, at No.3 in the same chart.

​

Jeniqua was also a Winner and Top 5 Finalist in the Independent Music Awards Australia, for various years in the Christian / Inspirational Category. She was also a Top Finalist in Urban and Pop Categories.

​

Her 2019 soulful and catchy single release ‘U got it Goin On’ was No.9 on the UK Soul Chart (Starpoint Radio) and No.12 on the Sweet Rhythm Chart, UK (Solar Radio). It was also chosen out of over 18,000 entries, as a semi finalist in the ISC (International Songwriting Competition) for the R&B Hip Hop category.

In 2020, Jeniqua was a Semi-finalist in the Unsigned Only Music Competition, with her Gospel song “Awaken my Soul’ in the Christian Category & Live performance of Adele’s ‘One & Only’ in the Vocal Performance Category.

​
